End of Year Speech from the President of Momo Calgary

We now have only a couple of days left this year. 2021 was another year in which just like many other Cultural Associations MOMO Calgary (MOCUDAC) remained at the mercy of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and its string of variants.

Even under such extraordinary circumstances, we continued to find a common ground through which we could freely express our collective interest and uphold our Cultural Values by devising new ways of working and communicating with each other.

We successfully amended our Constitution, created a Website, Logo and Motto for MOCUDAC, and saw a significant increase in our membership. On behalf of the Executive Machinery (EXCO) of MOCUDAC I am truly grateful to each and every one of you for not giving in to the circumstances, facing the situation boldly, and continuously committing yourselves to this great association.

Now as we navigate ourselves through 2022 with still the existence of the pandemic, and hoping to recover from the effects someday, our focus would be a shared desire towards RECONCILIATION. We must turn the guilt of HATE and DIVISION that we carry among us into action.

  • Action on reconciliation.
  • Action on our collective interest and well-being.
  • Action on demonstrating respect and understanding for all members of MOCUDAC.

Reconciliation is not a single act, nor does it have an end or expiry date. It is a lifelong journey of healing, respect and understanding that will require not only the effort and determination of the President and the EXCO, but rather each and every member of MOCUDAC. And though it is easily said than done, I hope and would urge each and every one of us to transform discussion on this topic into concrete results for us and for our beloved association.

While we all look forward to dawn of a new MOCUDAC I wish you all and your families the utmost best for the Xmas season, well as a healthy and prosperous New Year 2022.

Glovis Mudoh,

President.

End of Year Speech from the President of Momo Calgary

Hello Momo Family,

Seasonal greetings to you and your families. As we wind down the year, we may want to reflect on how the year was, and then look into the future 2021.We all would agree that 2020 was a year unlike any other. We grieved the loss of love, trust and unity that we share. It was a year that brought unprecedented challenges and changes to all of us individually, and in  one or two circumstances put a significant strain on us as an association.

So in fact to say 2020 was a year full of struggle would just be an understatement. Now as we look forward to a new year, I want to use this opportunity to instill in each and every one of you a sense of hope and optimism, and rest assure you that there’s always light at the end of the tunnel, and most importantly that what unites us as group is far greater than what divides us.

It has been a privilege to serve you as President so far, and despite all the challenges I sincerely want to thank you all for putting your trust in me. I wish you and your families the utmost best for the holiday season, and a healthy and prosperous 2021.
